Referring to your despatch No. 173 of the

3rd. August, I havo the honour to stato that i concur in your suggention that this Colony should adopt the rule that whan on officer or un of Bis linjesty's Foress is reported missing, payments of Civil salary may be continued for period of six months from the data on which the casualty is believed to have occurred.
